About Apex Softwash

Apex Softwash is a specialist softwash roof cleaning company founded in 2014. We exist to do one thing well: clean UK roofs without damaging them, and keep them clean for years.

What makes us different

Roof cleaning attracts a lot of opportunists — handymen with a pressure washer, gardeners with a ladder, general cleaners adding it as a side service. We're none of those. Every Apex Softwash technician is specifically trained in:

• Low-pressure biocide application using manufacturer-approved chemistry
• Working at height (IPAF and PASMA certified)
• Tile-type identification — clay, concrete, slate, Marley, fibre cement
• Moss, algae and lichen biology, so we treat the cause not just the symptom
• Insurance-grade documentation: every job photographed before and after

Our method

We don't pressure wash tiled roofs. Ever. Pressure washing damages tile coatings, dislodges ridge mortar and forces water under the felt — and it only removes visible moss, leaving spores to regrow. Instead we use a professional sodium-hypochlorite-based biocide applied at low pressure. The chemistry kills moss, algae and lichen at the spore level. Rain then continues the cleaning process for weeks.

A single softwash treatment typically keeps a roof visibly clean for 4–5 years. We back this with a 5-year regrowth protection written guarantee.
